• She has gathered a team of 13 chaplains to offer non-judgmental listening and support

• Spiritual Care Services has provided more than 1,100 remote visits for Mainers

More About Lori:
Lori Whittemore founded Spiritual Care Services of Maine in 2021, a nonprofit organization that provides care for people experiencing challenge and crisis, like the widespread instances of isolation felt during the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine. Spiritual Care Services of Maine has 13 chaplains on its staff that provide non-judgmental listening to people experiencing fear, loss, and stress for any number of reasons. The organization has supported people who have lost multiple family members to COVID and struggled to arrange the funerals, people challenged by ideological differences with family members regarding vaccines, single parents trying to balance work with child care in the midst of outbreaks, and more. Under contract with the Department of Health and Human Services, SCS of Maine has provided more than 1,100 remote visits to people all across Maine.
